Jasmine’s first post

Many things come with age that are not welcome, but there is one good one:
acceptance.
Yes, yes I know, the hip is acting up, and shoulders feel stiff again, and of course there was this knee replacement last year.
But on the whole, as my friend Marlene said, even though the flesh is lazy, the heart is young and willing.
And this is what matters.
You can still do things.
And you want to!

Thinking: I’m too old for this;
Or: I’m too stiff to do yoga
Is missing the point.
If you ARE too old and too stiff and know this( or think you do!) it is just the beginning of the inquiry.
Once the first action is taken, and that would of course be actually TRYING to do some yoga, you can continue.

  1. One of the biggest joys in my daily existence is to wake up feeling fully rested and having a pain free body. This is the product of a deliberate approach to life, minimizing the risk of injury (by not practicing any activity that has the potential to injure the body) and by having healthy mental/emotional practices. This includes yoga which addresses both the physical and the mental/emotional/spiritual dimensions of life. Even a once a week practice yields significant results when done on a consistent basis.
